Today is an important day for women's suffrage. On November 28, 1893, women voted for the first time to elect their representatives. And this right was first given to women in New Zealand. After almost 13 years of agitation, women got the right to vote. The movement was led by the Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) led by Kate Sheparth.
