The tricolor flag was hoisted for the first time on 31 December in 1931

On this day in 1929, Congress workers led by Mahatma Gandhi took full independence at the Lahore session. At midnight on 31 December 1929, on the banks of the Ravi River in Lahore, Mahatma Gandhi took the oath of complete Swaraj with Congress workers. Freedom and civil disobedience were emphasized in the resolution adopted at the Lahore session of the Congress. Motilal Nehru supported these proposals. The tricolor flag was hoisted for the first time on 31 December.
